Mom and dad made new friends while I was swimming yesterday. They recommended a new place, and we decided to try it.

The first thing i noticed about Doi Moi was that it was very shiny, white, and clean, kind of like heaven’s cafeteria. The restaurant got busy after we sat down. When we sat down we asked if we could move to a window seat, they said yes. The crowd was mostly young professionals.
The menu was not easy to read, but it was not hard to read. It looked like it was all the same size font, but there was bold and a little size different. If you have to use the same font, some color or size difference really helps kids read menus. When our waitress, Wendy came over to the table, she made a lot of recommendations about food, it was all the food we had already chosen. After me and my family ordered Wendy brought the food really quickly.
The food and ginger beer (I had non-alcoholic) were very spicy, it was like fighting fire with lava. if you order the spicy food maybe you should get a sweet soft drink. my favorite appetizer was the beef jerky because it was very savory and salty. My second favorite appetizer was the pork skewer, it was spicy and smoky. The raw scallop ceviche was surprisingly sour and spicy.
The pork was very soft, the meat fell of the bone… even THE BONE FELL OFF THE BONE. the pieces of coriander made it taste fresh. I thought I was too full for desert but then I saw the passion fruit ice cream. It was good, you could taste salt crystals but it was sweet and not at all too salty. If you need a kids menu, this is not your place, but if you (or your kids) can eat adult food, it’s a treat.
This place earns 4 bunk-e stars.
